This is an exceptionally special bone-carved nine-pronged Vajra demon-quelling pestle, often used as an intuitive practice ritual instrument during the manifestation of numerous deities. The nine-pronged Vajra symbolizes the "Nine Vehicles" (of Buddhist practice), typically representing the Nine Vehicles of Teachings of Samantabhadra Buddha (the Primordial Buddha of Universal Goodness). In the Nyingma school (Ancient School of Tibetan Buddhism), the nine prongs further signify the Nine Great Vajras and the Nine Unique Endeavors of the Dharma Protectors. This practiced nine-pronged Vajra, having circulated for over a century, has accumulated immense invisible blessed power through time, making it supremely auspicious.

This nine-pronged Vajra is a solidly carved piece, with a well-proportioned and full form, and its wear is perfectly balanced—neither excessive nor insufficient. The pestle body is sturdy, dominated by a thick, powerful central prong running through its core. The eight side prongs are particularly resplendent, glowing with a treasure-like luster and plump as lanterns. Its contours rise and fall gracefully, with the expansion and tension at the pestle tips creating a subtle yet dynamic rhythm amid smooth curves, exuding an extraordinary sense of power.

Originally handed down from Mindroling Monastery, the ancestral seat of the Nyingma school, this Vajra is of incomparable sacredness.
